Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies:
Name Update Emphasizes PracticeМ_s Spine Care

The Orthopaedic Center of the Rockies has updated its name to Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies. The name change highlights the 40-year-old medical practiceМ_s services for patients with disorders or injuries to their back or neck.

МВIncluding spine in our name communicates more completely the range of services that we offer to the community and patients,МЁ said Dr. Michael Houghton, president of the board of directors of the Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies.

МВWe have offered a comprehensive range of services and surgeries for many years for people who have spine problems or pain,МЁ said Dr. Robert Benz, a spine surgeon with the group.

МВWe see this as an opportunity to emphasize the complete program we have established for taking care of people with neck and back problems,МЁ said Dr. William Biggs, who is also a spine surgeon with the practice.

OCR offers the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques, as well as an array of non-surgical options to care for people who have back/neck problems, including neck and low-back disc herniations (bulging disc), stenosis (narrowing), scoliosis (spine curvature), along with many other spinal problems.

Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies is the practiceМ_s third name since its founding in 1969. At that time it was called Fort Collins Orthopaedic Associates. In 1990, the groupМ_s physicians adopted the name Orthopaedic Center of the Rockies, or OCR.

The practiceМ_s new name applies to the Orthopaedic & Spine CenterМ_s offices in Fort Collins and Loveland. OCR just moved its office in Loveland to a new facility at 3470 East 15th Street, which is off East U.S. 34 across from Mountain View High School. The Loveland officeМ_s patient services include clinic physician appointments, therapy (PT and OT), and X-rays.

OCRМ_s Fort Collins facility offers those same services, plus a surgery center, overnight stay recovery center, warm water therapy pools, and MRI scanner.

The practice has 23 physicians, comprising 18 orthopaedic surgeons, one podiatrist, and four primary care sports medicine doctors.
