Lead Facilities Technician

The Facilities Lead repairs, replaces or installs items relating to maintenance or improvement of the mechanical and physical healthcare facilities.  This role is primary individual responsible for the physical environment of the campus to ensure safety, efficiency, aesthetic and up time.

Duties Include: 

  • Performs and rounds routinely checking the operation and safety of mechanical systems.
  • Provides technical information concerning repairs, installations, and maintenance.
  • Performs assigned preventative/corrective work orders.
  • Performs security functions and corrects security problems if possible, or notifies appropriate person for correction.
  • Visually inspects equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication.
  • Maintains equipment by tightening fittings, repacking bearings, replacing packing glands, gaskets, valves, recorders, and gauges, and cleaning or replacing burners or other components, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Operates and services equipment as needed or required.
  • Keeps records of maintenance up-to-date. This includes work orders, time sheets, preventative maintenance cards, equipment startup and shutdown procedures, corrective maintenance records and other government required records.
  • Includes the supervision and coordination of system work subcontracted to other businesses.
  • Attends project meetings and maintains project budgets.
  • Coordinates facilities projects with internal resources and vendors.
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to other facilities staff.
  • First responder to local building system emergencies
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Include: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Certificate from college or technical school desired.
  • Five years of experience in a similar position or trade preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of standard maintenance tools, equipment and materials.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to perform mathematical arithmetical calculations including fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and should do so in a sound and safe manner. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee may occasionally work in hot and/or cold environments; small, close spaces; and may climb ladders.

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Longmont, travel to other locations may be required for coverage and staffing needs.

Pay: $25.00 – $33.00/hour, commensurate with experience
