The Payroll and Accounting Clerk is responsible for all essential functions relating to bi-weekly payment of wages, including employee card maintenance, collecting and entering accurate record of earnings, deductions, and payouts. Position is responsible for timeclock maintenance and hours processing as well as assisting with other accounting tasks as needed. Duties Include:
- Maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
- Monitoring employee hours in Empower time clock system; communicate with managers regarding missing data/forms as needed
- Reviewing and verifying missing punches and leave forms turned into payroll, to data entered into timekeeping system by managers
- Entering hours into Paylocity payroll processing system
- Resolving payroll discrepancies
- Processing employee garnishments
- Processing payroll deduction payments to internal and external vendors
- Processing new and terminated employees in appropriate systems (time clock, payroll, benefits)
- Maintaining employee information (change in exemptions, insurance coverage, deductions, pay adjustments, etc.)
- Completing payroll allocation journal entries
- Reconciling bank statements
- Completing reconciling journal entries
- Supporting accounting staff
- Maintaining confidence and protecting operations by keeping all information confidential
Required Skills:
High School Diploma
2 or more years of payroll processing experience
Ability to perform data entry with speed and accuracy
Maintain accurate tracking and records
Detail oriented and able to meet strict deadlines
Extensive knowledge of Excel
Knowledge of Paylocity payroll software and Empower timeclock system preferred
