Pre-Admission Teaching Registered Nurse (part-time)

The Pre-Admission Teaching RN serves as a member of the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) OCR team and performs assessments with patients prior to admission for surgery either in-person or through a phone interview. The teaching RN collects the patient’s medical, pharmaceutical, surgical, and family history and updates current health history as necessary. This position also works closely with the anesthesia, Pre-Op/PACU department and clinical staff in coordinating the patient’s needs in order to have a successful surgical outcome.

The Pre-Admission Teaching RN is responsible for:

  • Performing assessment with patient prior to admission – in person or via telephone
  • Collecting the patient’s medical, pharmaceutical, surgical, and family history and updates the current health history as necessary
  • Working closely with the anesthesia, Pre-Op/PACU department and Clinical staff in coordinating the patient’s needs in order to have a successful surgical outcome
  • Performing outbound post-operative follow-up calls as requested, and answering inquiries in a timely and helpful manner
  • Demonstrate flexibility in performance of patient care tasks to achieve timely, responsive, cost effective and high-quality care. Demonstrates flexibility in performance to achieve the ASC’s goals

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have graduated from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Have current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado
  • Have current BLS, ACLS, and PALS for Healthcare Provider certifications
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of OR, Pre-Op/PACU or Recovery Center experience
  • Have experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (preferred)

  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and should do so in a sound and safe manner. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Location: Loveland, Travel to other locations may be required for coverage and staffing needs

Pay: $33.00 – $46.00/hour, commensurate with experience
