Responsible for the supervision and training pertaining to all aspects of sterile processing to include the decontamination, preparation packaging sterilization and sterile storage while adhering to department policies and procedures; ensures personal and team competency in all sterilization processes; ensures team compliance with quality control and repair and troubleshoot management of equipment. Serves as a liaison resource between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing. Capital expenditures purchases—works closely with OR Manager to bid according to department specifications. Information is then taken to Administrator, Director, COO,CEO and the Board of Directors for final approval.
High school diploma or equivalent. One year Supervisor/Management experience in Sterile Processing or Operating Room specialty preferred. Requires independent judgment with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member.
Physical guidelines include ability to stand/walk for up to twelve hours/day, regularly bend, stoop, twist; occasionally (up to maximum of 20 times) will lift a maximum of 25 pounds from autoclave. Communicates effectively and safely with coworker’s and physician’s. PPE (person protective equipment) is provided. MSDS (material safety data sheets) for chemicals used in the facility are provided.
