Gavin Bishop, M.D.
Dr. Gavin Bishop is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine & Joint Specialist, and one of the newest members of the Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies team. Dr. Bishop graduated from the University of California San Diego where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering and was an Academic All-American in Swimming. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Medicine from The George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Boston University School of Medicine in 2005, and conducted his Fellowship Training in Sports Medicine at New England Baptist Hospital, Boston, MA. Dr. Bishop has been a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Specialist at the University of Colorado Health in Longmont for the last seven years.

Dr. Bishop graduated from the University of California San Diego where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering and was an Academic All-American in Swimming. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Medicine from The George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Boston University School of Medicine in 2005, and conducted his Fellowship Training in Sports Medicine at New England Baptist Hospital, Boston, MA. Dr. Bishop has been a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Specialist at the University of Colorado Health in Longmont for the last seven years.
Besides his Board Certification and Colorado Medical License, Dr. Bishop held the office of Vice President of the Perioperative Service Line and was an active member on various Orthopaedic and Perioperative committees at the University of Colorado Health. During Bishop’s Fellowship, he provided care for the Boston Celtics. He has presented at various conferences in the fields of healthcare, anesthesiology, and orthopaedics and has a handful of publications surrounding his orthopaedic specialties. He is currently a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the International Congress for Joint Replacement.
As a former athlete and activity enthusiast, Dr. Bishop is devoted to helping others who are passionate about what they do, recover from physical injuries so they can get back to the activities they love. A native Coloradan, in his free time he enjoys biking, skiing, and enjoying the outdoors with his wife, son, and dog.
Dr. Bishop will be taking appointments at our Lafayette and Longmont locations.
