Job Description

Responsible for all aspects of daily workflow related to the authorization staff involved in obtaining prior authorizations and benefits. This includes direct supervision of the authorization coordinators, data entry staff and any team leads.

Position is responsible for the full prior authorizations process.

Works closely with Director of Revenue Cycle and Payer Relations to establish policies, procedures, deadlines and goals

Works closely with the Revenue Cycle Leadership Team, other revenue cycle staff, and clinical teams to ensure tasks are completed timely and accurately to achieve department collection goals

Develops a thorough understanding of practice management, EHR software, and authorization specific software to ensure maximum utilization

Maintains current reference materials on insurance plans to assure understanding of regulations and clinical guidelines

    Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred Formal training/education to include 3-5 years in the insurance or medical industry, with direct management experience. Strong organization and communication skills required. Experience with Centricity Practice Solution and Experian solutions strongly recommended.
