We are experiencing tremendous growth and are looking to add talented people to our team in all of our locations!

The Certified Coder performs various duties to accurately interpret and bill physician charges for physician services. Enters appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes into EMR/billing system and bills charges. Duties include:

Perform initial charge review to determine appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes to be used to report physician services to third party payers

Interpret progress notes, operative reports, discharge summaries, and charge documents to determine services provided and accurately assign CPT and ICD-10 coding to these services

Enters appropriate data into the EMR/billing system by selecting the appropriate code, diagnosis, and modifiers

Review provider surgery logs and other reports of clinical activity to ensure billing is captured for all patients

Review physician documentation to ensure compliance with third party and regulatory guidelines

Work in coordination with other members of the billing office as necessary

Meet and exceed long and short term goals as established for the department

Take ownership of special projects, research data, and follow through with detailed action plans

    Preferred Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required Good working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy required Certified Professional Coder 5 years' experience with CPT/ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, bonus points to those with experience in orthopedic physician services
