Credentialing Specialist

SUMMARY:

The Credentialing Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of credentialing for all OCR medical staff, providers, and  practice locations to include but not limited to: maintaining up to date licensures and certifications;  responsible for ensuring all providers are credentialed, re-credentialed, appointed, and privileged with health plans, hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.   This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate and detailed credentialing records; interface regularly with hospitals, insurance companies, and state agencies; assist providers with completion of required forms;  responsible for monitoring and updating various regulatory sites and databases as assigned; monitor Physician Board Certification status and assist with Physician Specialty Board Certification initial and recertification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

A minimum of a high school diploma or GED required.  Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business or related area is preferred.

Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred.

Experience:

2 years of experience in healthcare related field with credentialing experience is preferred.
