The Transcriptionist transcribes physicians’ daily chart notes, correspondence, histories and physicals, operative reports, projects and articles for publication.
 
This position will have options for remote work within Colorado.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Types and edits physician chart notes, operative reports, histories and physicals, and other correspondence proficiently and accurately on a daily basis.
  • Proofreads and corrects all transcriptions prior to submission
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of medical terminology
  • Prints documents and accurately files them into charts. Investigates and resolves any missing information.
  • Routes appropriate narratives to case management team for billing
  • Faxes dictation per routing on charts
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of medical transcription experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology for all clinic services is required.
  • Must be an accurate and proficient typist with basic language and sentence structure skills. Must be able to type 80 wpm from voice recognition dictation equipment utilizing earphones and foot controls.
  • Experience in Microsoft Word and voice recognition software preferred.
  • Core competencies in quality, quantity, detail oriented, communication, and confidentiality.
Physical Requirements
  • The work environment is the typical office The employee must be able to complete their work satisfactorily in an environment where there are significant distractions, including staff, patients, and vendors walking through and conversing, telephones ringing, conversations carrying over, loud noises, and interruptions to answer questions from others.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls up to 8 hours per day. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee will frequently use Dictaphone equipment with audio capability for up to 8 hours a day. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and should do so in a sound and safe manner. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
