About Dan Johnson, MD
Dr. Dan Johnson is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic oncologist and orthopaedic traumatologist. He is excited to be joining Orthopaedic and Spine Center of the Rockies to offer surgical management and consultation to fracture and oncology patients on the Front Range.
Dr. Johnson graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University. He also received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University, during which he conducted research on hip fracture patients. He completed his orthopaedic training at Northwestern University, where he was selected to be chief resident and won the Brian Hartigan Award for the top resident in his graduating class. Following residency, Dr. Johnson completed a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland, one of the busiest and highest acuity trauma centers in the US. Afterwards, he completed an additional fellowship in orthopaedic oncology at Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Johnson helps guide the surgical and non-surgical management of patients who sustain a traumatic injury or fracture. He also assists in the diagnosis and surgical management of tumors in the pelvis and extremities. These cancers can range from benign tumors to sarcomas to metastatic disease including breast, lung, thyroid, kidney and prostate cancer.
Outside of work, he loves spending time with his family and dog, skiing, running, and golfing.
