Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies provides comprehensive, highly specialized shoulder care to residents of northern Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska.

Our physicians have the knowledge that comes from years of experience focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of the full spectrum of shoulder disorders and injuries.

Our shoulder specialists take care of patients with shoulder concerns every day in clinic. Their personalized care includes both surgical and conservative treatments.

The surgeons have expertise in evaluating and treating a wide variety of shoulder conditions, such as tendonitis and tendon tears, rotator cuff injuries, trauma and arthritis that lead to the need for shoulder replacement surgery.

The Shoulder

The shoulder must be mobile enough for a very wide range of movements by the arms and hands.

At the same time, it must remain stable enough to allow for actions such as lifting, pushing, pulling, or reaching.

The shoulder is made up of three bones:

  • the clavicle (collarbone)
  • the scapula (shoulder blade)
  • the humerus (upper arm bone)

The shoulder also has associated muscles, ligaments, and tendons, all working together in a complex structure.

This combination of movements, and the complex structure of the shoulder, can contribute to the shoulder problems that many individuals experience.

Our sports medicine surgeons provide team and game coverage for the Colorado Eagles hockey team, area high schools, and dozens of rodeo competitions as well as team physicians for Colorado State University’s sports teams.
