About Sean Grey, MD
Dr. Sean Grey is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist who specializes in the treatment of shoulder and elbow injuries and conditions. He has patient appointments in our Fort Collins, CO, office.
Dr. Grey’s practice is widely known for the results of surgery he performs for athletic injuries and other shoulder and elbow conditions.
Dr. Grey performs such operations as:
- total shoulder replacement
- rotator cuff repair
- reverse shoulder arthroplasty/replacement
- many arthroscopic (scope) procedures of the shoulder and clavicle
- elbow reconstruction
Dr. Grey holds board certification from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, together with a subspecialty certificate in orthopaedic sports medicine.
He completed his fellowship training in sports medicine from the University of Colorado-Orthopaedic Associates of Aspen. Fellowship training provides physicians with an additional, sixth year of specialized surgical training following completion of their residency.
In addition, Dr. Grey has completed advanced training in reconstruction techniques of the shoulder at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in New York. He completed his residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Denver.
Dr. Grey serves as one of OCR’s Team Physicians for the Colorado State University, along with Rocci Trumper, MD, Thomas Anderson, DO, Katie Scott, Ph.D., and Brian Lancaster, MD.
Dr. Grey is also one of the OCR physicians who provide team medical services for the Colorado Eagles hockey team.
He has worked with other leading orthopaedic surgeons around the country to improve the design of total shoulder implants. Dr. Grey is also participating in a number of research studies into various aspects of shoulder replacement surgery.
He takes care of patients from OCR’s service area of northern Colorado, Wyoming, and western Nebraska, and beyond.
Outside of work, Dr. Grey enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, riding mountain and road bikes, and fly fishing.
