About Meily Machado, DPM

Dr. Meily Machado is a podiatrist focused on the comprehensive care of foot and ankle conditions, with a particular emphasis on podiatric medicine and surgery. She treats a wide range of concerns including heel pain, bunions, hammertoes, ingrown toenails, diabetic foot conditions, wounds, and other common and complex foot problems. Her goal is to help patients understand what is causing their symptoms and develop a treatment plan that allows them to return to the activities that matter most to them.

Dr. Machado earned her bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Cell Science, graduating cum laude from the University of Florida. She then earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and completed a three-year podiatric surgical residency with reconstructive rearfoot and ankle training at Palmetto General Hospital in South Florida. Before joining OCR, she practiced in Palm Beach County, where she cared for patients in both outpatient and hospital settings and gained extensive experience managing a broad spectrum of podiatric conditions.

Before entering medicine, Dr. Machado worked in aircraft avionics. That background helped shape her appreciation for precision, technical problem-solving, and hands-on work qualities that continue to influence her approach to patient care and surgery.

Dr. Machado believes patients should feel heard, informed, and comfortable with their treatment options. She takes an individualized approach to care, considering each patient’s goals, lifestyle, and overall health when developing a treatment plan. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and is committed to providing clear, comfortable communication for Spanish-speaking patients and families throughout Northern Colorado.

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Machado has a strong interest in education, research, and wound care. She is the author of Wound Care Uncomplicated: A Practical Pocket Guide for Healthcare Providers and Foot & Ankle Surgery: A High-Yield Board Review. She has also participated in clinical research involving advanced wound-care treatments.

Outside of work, Dr. Machado enjoys staying active, hiking, traveling, exploring Colorado, and spending time with her family and dogs.
