About Ryan Hartman, MD
Dr. Ryan Hartman is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon.
Dr. Hartman was born and raised in Wyoming, and spent his high school years in Fort Collins, graduating from Fort Collins High School in 1993.
He enjoys helping people regain their health and ability to engage in their favorite sports or recreational pursuits. Dr. Hartman specializes in taking care of people of all ages who have a sports or athletic injury, as well as pediatric patients from newborns through teen-agers.
Dr. Hartman has experience with many kinds of sports injuries and children’s orthopaedic conditions.
He completed advanced training in both pediatric orthopaedics and sports medicine surgery through fellowship programs at Children’s Hospital in Aurora, CO (2010), and the Cincinnati Sports Medicine Center, respectively (2009-2010). Fellowship programs provide additional, highly specialized training for a physician following the completion of their residency program. The additional training gives orthopaedic surgeons the opportunity to develop in-depth knowledge and skills in their area of interest.
Dr. Hartman completed his residency training in orthopaedic surgery at Vanderbilt University.
At OCR, he is the primary physician for the care of children’s orthopaedic conditions. He succeeded Roger Sobel, MD, as the practice’s pediatric specialist. Dr. Sobel retired in 2010. Dr. Hartman joined OCR in January 2011.
In sports medicine, Dr. Hartman joins Drs. Rocci Trumper, Sean Grey, and David Beard in providing surgery for athletic and recreational injuries.
He holds board certification through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and takes care of patients from OCR’s service area of northern Colorado, Wyoming, and western Nebraska.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Hartman enjoys spending time with his family, as well as traveling, playing tennis, running, reading, skiing, and hiking.
