OCR Welcomes Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon Dr. Tyler Edmond

The Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies (OCR) welcomes Dr. Tyler Edmond, an orthopaedic trauma surgeon, to its south market. With advanced training in complex fracture care and limb salvage, Dr. Edmond brings a passion for helping patients recover from serious injuries and return to the activities that give their lives meaning. 

“OCR has an outstanding reputation for providing exceptional patient care, and I’m particularly drawn to the opportunity to work in an environment that prioritizes both clinical excellence and quality of life,” he said. 

“This is an exciting time for OCR and the community in the Northern Denver metropolitan region. Dr. Edmond’s experience and skill will be a tremendous value for patients in the area and I look forward to working with him,” said George Chaus, trauma and orthopedic surgeon at OCR.  

Dr. Edmond earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Maryland, where he was named Resident of the Year for 2021–2022. His experience at Baltimore’s R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center helped shape his career trajectory. 

“During my time as a resident at R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore I developed a passion for complex fracture care, particularly involving the pelvis and acetabulum,” he says. 

He further developed that expertise through Emory’s Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, completed in July 2026. There, his interests expanded to traumaplasty, limb salvage and advanced bone transport techniques for treating large segments of missing bone. 

For Dr. Edmond, the variety of orthopaedic trauma is part of its appeal. Each patient presents a different challenge, drawing on the full spectrum of the trauma specialty and training in complex injuries. 

Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Edmond studied neuroscience at Colgate University, where he also played Division I football. Now, joining a practice that serves Colorado’s active communities offers an opportunity to pair his professional interests with his appreciation for an active lifestyle. Access to outdoor recreation and a strong work-life balance were meaningful factors in his decision to join OCR and make Colorado his next professional home. 

Above all, he is eager to connect with patients and his new colleagues.
